CHINESE herbs

Picture
Chinese herbs can be used alongside acupuncture or as an alternative to.

Treatment with Chinese herbal medicine involves the use of combinations or 'recipes' of herbs with a long history of traditional use. These include roots, stems, flowers, leaves, seeds, fruits and barks. The ingredients and dosages are adjusted to suit the individual patient's problem. This approach can provide a very personal and effective treatment. Prescriptions may be for raw herbs, concentrated powders or ready-made pills.
For effectiveness and your convenience I mostly prescribe powdered herbs which are easy to prepare by simply adding boiling water.

Chinese herbs can be used for almost any condition. They can be especially useful for colds and flu, chest infections, bladder infections, digestive issues, anxiety, tiredness and stress.

Although Chinese Medicine can sometimes include ingredients of animal origin, at Thornhill Chinese Medicine I never use these, preferring instead to use a wide range of plant materials. I do not use any endangered plants and always use batch numbered herbs from suppliers who are approved by the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. The batch number system and approved supplier list ensures the authenticity and quality of the herbs I use. Chinese herbs are very safe to use when prescribed correctly by a properly trained practitioner.

I am a member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine abiding by their Code of Practice, Dispensary Code and scheme for Continuing Professional development.

Please note: No 'over the counter' sales of herbs. Please book a consultation. I will diagnose and prescribe based on your unique symptoms.

Traditional Chinese medicine lady. The patient can pick it up from the doctor's desk and point to where the problem is, thus avoiding the ears of those waiting in the queue.
